Maker Movement Grant

Thanks to a Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools grant, all district fourth and fifth graders have the opportunity to use Maker Movement materials and equipment, including a 3D printer.

These high-tech resources expose students to new skills and mediums for designing and creating objects, support spatial skills and creativity, and provide the perfect tools for kids who learn best by doing.

Sample projects include printing 3D shapes with similar characteristics like volume and surface area, printing student-designed water wheels to complement the science unit about water, and designing new creations.

Forest Hills teacher Megan Skogstad expressed her gratitude by saying, “Thank you so much for the FEPS Grant for the Maker Space [materials] and the 3D printer. We love it!”
